This is the closest we come to a beach in Moscow. Tourists can pay to blast down the Moscow River in one of several speedboats, but there is no swimming that we could see. 

The Moscow youth choir sings during the Battle School graduation service. We met young Dima, second row, in Moldova when he was just a little boy. Now he worships the Lord with the grownups! 

Here is Brad with the Battle School students, after they have spent twelve months in their corps conducting discipleship classes. They all arrived in Moscow for graduation this past weekend.

An quaint bridge on the estate of Catherine the Great II, site of our recent cadet picnic. Brad and Anita enjoyed the break from deskwork. 

The Sharov family enjoys the recent picinic with one half of our first year cadets. Sasha, on the left, recently joined our education team of officers to work alongside his wife, Svetta, current assistant training principal. That's her enjoying an apple! 

The opera house on Catherine the Great II's estate as seen from the woods rising off of a nearby lake. This delightful retreat sits directly in Moscow's metropolitan buzz and clash, a ten minute stroll from subways, busses, and speeding automobiles. 

Another portion of the palace currently under reconstruction. In time the lovely park surrounding it will house an equally attractive piece of history, resurrected.

A historic palace receives a facelift...associated with Catherine the Great II, this structure should eventually look like the diagram in the following pic. 

You can just identify the musicians playing tunes on bells of the historic cathedral in Kolomensky Park. The tower's bells are intricately connected by ropes and rings so that the musicians create a melodic tune by tugging and tapping the apparatus. No pre-recorded tapes here! 

Cliff and Simone Worthing brought their children Nadia and Kian to a picnic at Kolomensky Park, a lovely vista adjacent to the Moscow River, filled with hiking trails and quiet streams. Nice to be enjoying picnic weather again! 

A Moldovan feast! Three Moldovan families and two families who served as Salvation Army leaders in Moldova gather in Moscow for a meal of mamaliga (a cornbread based dish), brinza (cheese from sheep's milk), egplant, garlic and beet salad, curry chicken, and spiced shredded carrots. The Sharovs, the Lalacs (our hosts), the Cundiffs, the Caldwells, and the Shulyanskys had a fine fellowship at this happy gathering.

Major Will Cundiff drops by Territorial Headquarters in Moscow to help map the future of Romania, where he and his wife Sue are the Regional leaders for The Salvation Army.
