The interior of the Buddhist Temple in Elista, Russia. The people do nothing but sit, while the priests of the temple sing. This particular day one could pay money to be prayed over for physical healing.
Anita and Captain Marika Safarova visit the largest Buddhist temple in Europe while seeing cadet Julia Dorofeyeva in Elista, Russia. The community is almost entirely Buddhist, but The Salvation Army has found its niche there.
Anita teaches holiness in leadership to local lay leaders in Baltsi, Moldova. We were thankful for a warm room and happy faces.
Cadets Vladimir and Galina Baskinov outside their corps building in Volgograd, Russia.
Brad travelled to Rostov, Russia, to teach the lay people of the The Salvation Army Corps. These folks were quite hungry to learn about inductive Bible study.
Cadet Nastia Archipova's apartment. Note the two burner stove, and the complete lack of sinks in the entire apartment. She washes clothes AND dishes in the bathtub.
Anita visited Stockholm, Sweden, for a European Training Principals' Conference. These are NOT Salvation Army cannons.
Valentine's Day at The Salvation Army Mission Training and Education Center in Moscow (don't even try to form the acronym for that!) Cadets and staff celebrate God' great love.
...and this is Vic! Vic and Brad are reviewing William Booth's "The Way Out."
Over Christmas we saw our good friends and fellow Salvation Army officers, the Tidmans. This is Ellen...
Our family together for the first Christmas in five years. That's Jason down front with his former girlfriend--and present wife! Justin and Jaron accompany Mom and Dad in the back.
